Fantasy Wrestling League Rules
The Draft
The draft order is randomly chosen. Unlike previous years where the draft took place starting at 125lbs, once the order is set, any wrestler from the pool can be selected regardless of weight. This will encourage more research and strategy for the drafting process. This will also eliminate any questions about what weight a wrestler will wrestle at for the year. After the 1st round the draft order will snake backwards to allow fair drafting opportunity. *Note: All draft picks are final, regardless if the wrestler is taking a redshirt or is injured.
There will be 20 rounds of drafting, resulting in rosters consisting of 20 wrestlers.
Example of Draft Order
Round 1: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10
Round 2: 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1
Round 3: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10
Trades
Trades can occur at anytime after the draft. To make a trade official, one team must propose an official trade proposal, informing all teams in the league that a proposal has been made. All post must be made in the 'Official Trade' section of the forum (must be logged into weebly or other account). Trades cannot be accepted/declined until 24 hours after the initial trade proposal. If the trade is accepted, the league will be notified and the rosters will be updated.
Free Agency
A new addition to this years league will be the Add/Drop Procedures.
Add/Drops can only be made in between a 'Free Agency Period' (12 hours). Each team will be given '100' points at the beginning of the season to bid for wrestlers. Adds go to the highest bidder within the 'Free Agency Period'. In order to place a bid, you must-out bid the previous bidder.
In the event of a tie - Team A bids '100 points for Brent Metcalf' & Team B bids '100 points for Brent Metcalf' the first person to place the bid wins. There is a maximum of 3 adds/bids per FA period.
The Result of the Free Agency period will be posted after the period is closed (24 hours).
*Cannot exceed 20 wrestlers at anytime
Final Add Drop Period
A week before the NCAA Conference championships, each team must lock in their final line-ups (1 wrestler at each weight) and make any necessary moves before the conference championships.
NCAA Tournament Scoring
Placing points: 1st =16 , 2nd =12 , 3rd =10 , 4th =9 , 5th =7 , 6th =6 , 7th =4 , 8th =3
Advancement Points : 1 point for championship, ½ point for consolation. Points awarded for byes if wrestler wins next match.
The winner of each Championship semi-final will be awarded 10 place points. The winner of each Championship final will be
awarded 4 additional points. The winner of each consolation semi-final will receive 4 place points and the winner of the 3rd place
will receive 3 additional points.
In addition to the above, the following team points will be awarded when earned by an individual wrestler:
2 points FALL, DEFAULT, FORFEIT, OR DISQUALIFICATION
1 ½ TECHNICAL FALL (15 POINT SPREAD)
1 point MAJOR DECISION (8-14 POINTS)
Two team advancement points shall be scored for each match won in the championship bracket, except for the final first-place
match. If a wrestler receives a bye in the first round, he shall be awarded two advancement points for that round if he wins his next
match.
One team advancement point shall be scored for each match won in the consolation elimination, except for the final third and fifth
place matches. A wrestler who has received a bye in the consolation round shall be awarded one advancement point, provided he
wins his next round match.
